Part I Study Plan

Part I is around the corner and there is no better time than now to put together your study plan! The upcoming months are going to be busy and stressful with moving for a new job/fellowship, preparing for that job/fellowship, and trying to cram in as much studying for Part I as possible. First off, take every opportunity to learn from your patients over the next 4 months as there is no better way to learn than from patient experience. Secondly, examine your SAE results to determine areas you are weak in so you can plan to devote more time to those subjects. Thirdly, find a great study place where you can be free of distractions and truly focus on what is at hand.  Okay… let’s get on with the plan!

Day 1 – Mock 325 Exam

               Read stroke section of Cuccurullo

Day 2 – Read TBI section and Modalities section of Cuccurullo

               Take Stroke qbank test

Day 3- Read Rheum section and first 25 pages of MSK in Cuccurullo

               Take TBI qbank test

Day 4 – Read next 50 pages of MSK in Cuccurullo

               Take Modalities qbank test

Day 5 – Read next 50 pages of MSK in Cuccurullo

               Take Anatomy qbank test

Day 6 – Read next 50 pages of MSK in Cuccurullo

               Take Sports Medicine, Elbow, and Hand qbank tests

Day 7 – Rest

Day 8 – Read the rest of MSK in Cuccurullo

               Take Shoulder, Spine, and Knee qbank tests

Day 9 – Read first half of EMG in Cuccurullo

               Take Hip/Pelvis and Lower leg qbank tests

Day 10 – Read second half of EMG in Cuccurullo

               Take Industrial medicine qbank test.

Day 11 – Read first half of Prosthetics and Orthotics in Cuccurullo

               Take EMG and Neuromuscular qbank tests

Day 12 -Read second half of Prosthetics and Orthotics in Cuccurullo

               Take Orthotics and Prosthetics qbank tests.

Day 13- Take Gait qbank test and review topics that you have scored lower on.

Day 14- Read SCI section in Cuccurullo

               Continue review of lower scored topics.

Day 15- Read first half of Pulmonary/Cardiac/Cancer section in Cuccurullo

               Take SCI qbank test

Day 16 – Read second half of Pulmonary/Cardiac/Cancer section in Cuccurullo

               Take Pulmonary and Cardiac qbank tests

Dary 17 – Read first half of Pediatric section in Cuccurullo

               Take Cancer and Medication qbank tests

Day 18 – Read second half of Pediatric section in Cuccurullo

               Take Pediatric qbank test

Day 19 – Read first half of Associated Topics in PM&R

               Review of lower scored topics

Day 20 – Read second half of Associated Topics in PM&R

               Review of lower scored topics

Day 21 – Rest

Day 22 – Take Burn, Movement, Osteoporosis, and Spasticity qbank tests

Day 23 – Read Pain section in Cuccurullo

Day 24 – Rest

Day 25- Take 325 Mock Exam and compare results to tests on Day 1. Identify trouble topics and review.

Day 26 – Take ABPMR PM&R 100 Part I practice questions and an old SAE. Identify trouble topics and review.

Day 27 – Take a SAE practice test. Identify trouble topics and take the PM&R qbanks associated with those topics.

Day 28 – Take a PMRqbankreview 325 Mock Exam. Identify trouble topics and reference in Cuccurullo or Braddom’s text.

Day 29 – Review previous questions that have been troublesome and continue to reference in appropriate textbooks or other sources.

Day 30 – Take a 325 Mock exam and an SAE. Begin to relax some in the evenings to prepare yourself for the big day.

Here at PMRqbankreview.com we are big fans of not overdoing it the day before the test. Spend the morning reviewing topics that you feel less comfortable with or have less experience with and then begin to slow down in the afternoon. We would suggest visiting some high yield topics so they are fresh on your mind the night before the exam. Make sure you get an early bed time and organize yourself for the test day.
